Valve's back from the New Year break, and developers are rolling out updates across their game portfolio. Following the announcement of Deadlock's shift away from bi-weekly updates, we anticipated a substantial patch. However, Valve opted for a smaller, less intensive update to kick off the year.
This initial 2025 patch focused solely on adjustments to the Yamato hero. His Shadow Transformation's damage scaling and level one attack speed bonus were slightly reduced – a minor nerf. Further adjustments included nerfs to Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot, along with a minor rework of Alchemical Fire.

A more comprehensive patch is anticipated, though the timing remains uncertain. Predicting a release date at this stage is difficult.
It's noteworthy that Deadlock's player base has seen a recent decline. This might be attributed to the popularity of Marvel Rivals, but for a game still in deep beta, a consistent player count ranging from 7,000 to 19,000 players is respectable. As a reminder, Valve has yet to reveal any release dates or monetization plans.
