Clash of Clans is set to ditch Troop Training times in major overhaul

Author : Hazel Update:Apr 16,2025

Clash of Clans, a cornerstone of mobile gaming, is gearing up for a significant update that promises to redefine the gameplay experience. In an exciting development, Supercell has announced the complete removal of troop training times. This groundbreaking change means players can now deploy their armies almost instantly, allowing for quicker and more seamless battles. This move comes as part of Supercell's ongoing efforts to modernize the game, addressing the aging aspects while keeping the core experience fresh and engaging for its dedicated player base.

Following the elimination of training costs in 2022, the removal of training times marks another major step in streamlining gameplay. However, players need to act fast regarding their existing resources. Training Potions and Training Treats will no longer be available in in-app purchases or chest rewards starting today. You can still find them in the Trader and Gold Pass, but they will be converted to Gems at the end of the month. It's a clear case of "use them or lose them," so make sure to utilize these items before they're gone.

To complement this update, Supercell is introducing a new feature called "Match Anytime." This mechanic allows you to attack a snapshot of another player's base when no live opponents are available. You'll earn rewards from these matches, but the players whose bases are used won't lose anything if their defenses are breached. This system, already in use for Clan Wars and Legend League attacks, will now become a standard feature, enhancing the game's accessibility and engagement.

Alongside these changes, Supercell is also adjusting the Army Donation system, which will now require Elixirs or Dark Elixirs to donate troops. For a comprehensive overview of these updates and more, be sure to visit the Supercell blog.
