The suspension, implemented on January 9th, comes just one day after the company restarted the auto-demolition timers following a previous pause related to Hurricane Helene's aftermath. The 45-day demolition timers are a standard feature designed to free up housing plots from inactive players. However, Square Enix regularly suspends these timers during significant real-world events to accommodate players who may be unable to log in.

This latest pause is a direct response to the impact of the LA wildfires. Homeowners can still reset their timers by logging into their estates.

The decision highlights Square Enix's consideration for players affected by real-world crises. The wildfires have also impacted other events, including a postponement of the Critical Role Campaign 3 finale and the relocation of an NFL playoff game.
