Splitgate 2: The "Halo Meets Portal" Sequel Arrives in 2025
1047 Games, the creators of the popular arena shooter Splitgate, have announced a sequel! Set to launch in 2025, Splitgate 2 promises a fresh take on the fast-paced, portal-powered gameplay that captivated millions. Learn more about what awaits in the Sol Splitgate League.
A Familiar Feeling, a Brand New Game
A cinematic trailer released on July 18th unveiled Splitgate 2. Built with Unreal Engine 5, the free-to-play sequel aims for longevity, designed to "last a decade or more," according to CEO Ian Proulx. The developers have refined the core portal mechanics, striving for a deeper, more satisfying gameplay loop. While retaining familiar elements, the team assures players that Splitgate 2 will feel entirely different from its predecessor.

Splitgate 2 will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in 2025.
Factions, New Maps, and More
The trailer showcased the Sol Splitgate League and introduced three unique factions: Aeros (dashing mobility), Meridian (tactical time manipulation), and Sabrask (brute force). These factions add depth without transforming Splitgate 2 into a hero shooter. While specific gameplay details remain under wraps until Gamescom 2024 (August 21st-25th), the trailer offers a glimpse of new maps, weapons, and the return of dual-wielding.

No Single-Player, But a Richer Lore
Splitgate 2 will not feature a single-player campaign. However, a mobile companion app will provide access to comics expanding the game's lore, character cards, and a faction quiz to help players discover their perfect fit.
