Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, the upcoming kart racer from Sega and Sonic Team, promises the largest roster in series history, featuring iconic characters from the Sonic and Sega universes. A recent PlayStation.blog post revealed exciting new gameplay mechanics and features.

A Massive Roster of Beloved Characters

The game boasts a confirmed 23 characters at launch, with more to come. The revealed roster includes fan favorites like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, alongside characters from Sonic Riders (Jet, Wave, Storm), the Deadly Six (Zavok, Zazz), Team Dark (Shadow, Rouge, E-123 Omega), Dr. Eggman and his creations (Egg Pawn, Metal Sonic), Team Chaotix (Vector, Charmy, Espio), and even Blaze, Silver, Cream, and Big.

Dynamic Racing with CrossWorlds

Prepare for a revolutionary racing experience! Travel Rings transport racers between diverse CrossWorlds in real-time, transforming the race with unique environments, giant monsters, challenging obstacles, and stunning scenery. Expect dynamic tracks inspired by Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, changing with each lap to keep you on your toes. The game will feature 24 main tracks and 15 CrossWorlds.

Extensive Customization and Power-Ups

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds offers unparalleled vehicle customization, allowing players to tweak everything from body parts and wheels to colors and glows. Players can also equip their racers with 23 different Gadgets to fine-tune their racing style. The return of Extreme Gear from Sonic Riders adds a thrilling hoverboard-based racing option to the mix, with 45 unique original vehicles available. Sonic Creative Officer Takashi Iizuka calls it "a great culmination of all the Sonic Racing series games to date."

Closed Network Test – Join the Race!

A closed network test for PlayStation 5 is scheduled:
