NetEase Games unveiled their charming life sim, Floatopia, at Gamescom, promising a multi-platform release (including Android) sometime in 2025. This whimsical game features a world of floating islands and unique characters. The trailer depicts a picturesque setting where players can farm, fish, and customize their airborne homes.
A Cute Apocalypse
The game begins with a world-ending announcement, but fear not! This apocalypse is more akin to "My Time at Portia" than "Fallout." The world is a collection of fragmented lands suspended in the sky, inhabited by humans with varied supernatural abilities – some more useful than others.
Players become Island Managers, tending to crops, cloud-fishing, and decorating their island homes. The ability to travel to new locations and meet diverse characters adds to the adventure.
Socialization is a key element, with opportunities for shared adventures, island parties, and showing off your creations. However, multiplayer is entirely optional. Players will encounter a colorful cast of characters, each with their own unique quirks and superpowers (think "My Hero Academia").
While a specific release date hasn't been confirmed, pre-registration is available on the official website.
